For a drawing exercise in Animation 3, we looked at vintage photos from the 30's. Several people would then say something about that person and we would have to draw them in a way to portray their new persona. Each person's persona is written next to them.

In this class session, to introduce us to our next assignment, we drew gestures of different facial expressions using a Looney Toons short and the Nightmares Fear Factory flickr. Here are those gestures:
The next assignment is that we take one of our scenes from our master storyboard that includes at least 3 different facial expressions and do a rough animation test for it.

For the last few sessions, we have been working on head rig animations of our characters. This is the start of the head rig for the first part of the process along with the network:
We later had to select an audio file clip from a selection to animate to. I chose an audio clip from 30 Rock about sandwiches. We learned how to start the process of working on lip syncing with the x-sheet and drawing substitutions. This is the preliminary lip sync:
Afterwards, I worked on finalizing the action and the drawings as much as I could by the deadline. Here is that animation:
For this class session, we were told to get out of the classroom and draw people in interesting poses and push the pose. The minimum was 3 pages of life sketches and afterwards, we had to take 3 poses and reinterpret them with our character.
3 pages of life sketches:
This is my adjusted rough animation test based on the critiques I received from the rough pass. I extended the transformation sequence as well as adjusted the camera angles. In addition, I changed the final depressed pose to try and make the pose read better.
For this class session, we did gestures of 2 different "Looney Toons" shorts ("One Froggy Evening" and "What's Opera, Doc?"). I also adjusted my storyboard to accommodate the suggestions made from the previous session about our rough animation tests.
